Jaco Pulse

Palm fronds bend above warm sand,
Blue swells break with steady grace.
Boards wait upright, lean and stand,
Salt wind moves through open space.

White chairs face the restless sea,
Red umbrellas hold their frame.
Each wave repeats necessity,
Each tide returns without a name.

Tourists fade; the shore stays still,
Heat climbs slow from drift and bark.
Hills defend the distant hill,
Sea birds carve the morning arc.

Jaco breathes through surf and trade,
Bare feet cross the copper shore.
Vendors rest beneath the shade,
While deep currents ask for more.

Coconut husks and engine sound,
Mix with gulls that sweep the bay.
Simple rhythms hold this ground,
Then pull the crowded mind away.

Here, the body learns release,
From clocks, noise, hardened pace.
Ocean cadence brokers peace,
And leaves calm written on the face.
